Ram, Dinesh Kumar

Dinesh Kumar Ram completed his MFA from the Delhi College of Art in 1997. Since then, he has participated in various exhibitions around India, like the 36th National exhibition of India at Rabindra Bhawan , the group show at the Birla academy of Fine Art, Kolkata, and the Bombay Art Society Annual Show in 2002.

He has also had solo and two man shows at Nehru Centre, Mumbai, and Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi.

His use of brilliant colours to depict his subjects which include renderings of The Buddha in many different styles and women in dream-like poses, give his paintings a surreal dimension, and the vivid reds, blues, and yellows are unusual in their purity and strength of colour. He uses these same vivid hues to paint abstract canvases, and these abstractions are interspersed with geometric forms, notably triangles.

He has received various awards at State and All- India levels, and his works can be found in many collections in India and abroad.
